I could be your new customer, how do I get an estimate?
The fastest way to get an estimate is to use our on-line estimate form, where you will be offered a few simple questions to help us understand your needs and provide you with the fast quote. However, if you need to call us, please leave your message with the zip code, total sq .footage and the number of bedrooms in your home, as well as the phone number to call. If we have not returned your call within one business day after you left a message with your zip code, it means we do not service that particular area at this time.
What is the cancellation policy?
If it is necessary to cancel/skip your regular cleaning day, NJ Maid Services merely requires a 48 hours notice. If NJ Maid Services receives less than 48 hours notice, or can't access your home, it will be necessary for us to charge the full price of your cleaning. Future scheduled cleanings will remain unchanged. Please be sure to call in any termination of regularly scheduled cleanings.
How do I pay for your service?
NJ Maids will gladly accept the following forms of payment: cash, cashiers checks, money orders or checks. Payment for first time customers is accepted in cash or money order only and is due prior to initial cleaning service. For all subsequent cleaning sessions, most customers will find convenient simply leaving cash or check payable to Express Maid Services at home in an envelope. Payment is made on the day of each cleaning visit. $30.00 fee is applied to all returned checks.
What if I have pets?
We love all animals, however, some pets shed a lot of hair and thus substantially slow down our cleaning time, so we charge additional $10 to compensate. Always remember to keep guard dogs and other potentially dangerous animals locked up in a dedicated place for the duration of a cleaning session.
Do you do laundry?
Unfortunately not. Someday we may provide this service, but it is not available right now.
Whose cleaning supplies do you use?
We provide our own supplies per maintenance cleaning.
Do you take garbage out?
We will bag the trash we collect and throw it away.
Will I always have the same service provider?
Yes. We make every effort to send the same service provider each time. Occasionally there may be a change in service providers due to illness, days off, vacation or they may no longer work for NJ Maids.
How do you access my home?
We must be able to access your home to provide cleaning services. There are three choices: 1) The most convenient; you may leave a key on file in our key safe. 2) You may leave a key with your doorman. 3) You may meet the cleaner.
What if I have some additional tasks?
Any additional tasks, such as bed setup, dedicated cleanup and other domestic help requests will be considered at $30 to $50 an hour.
What exactly is your "One Hour Priority Cleaning"?
Our maid will clean whatever areas you specify to be cleaned up to one hour, regardless of the size of your place. Choose wisely and please prioritize because we may not be able to cover everything specified withiin that hour. Each additional half hour is $20, if needed. Consider this a super light cleaning because we will not concentrate long on any one particular area if there is a lot to be covered within an hour. This type of service can be chosen at any time as a stand alone alternative or a supplemental cleaning between regularly scheduled cleaning intervals.
How do I provide feedback on my cleaning?
Since cleaning is a very personalized and subjective service you may call us directly, or even visit this website to let us know how your service was.
What if something in my home gets broken?
We realize the nature of cleaning requires our staff to touch virtually all items within one's home or office. If any damage/loss does occur, simply notify NJ Maids within 24 hours of the cleaning date, we'll do our best to replace you broken item.
What do I have to do before the cleaning?
So the time we spend in your home can be as efficient as possible, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys or other household items.
How many people come out to do the cleaning?
One or more.
Can I tip the cleaners?
You certainly can, but only if you feel they did an exemplary job. It is not mandatory nor it is expected and it is totally at your discretion.
What about holidays or changing a scheduled cleaning visit?
If your scheduled cleaning falls on a major holiday, we will contact you to reschedule your service. If you need to change a scheduled cleaning visit we appreciate a 72-hour notice. When short notice is given, we may need to charge a fee if the team cannot be reassigned.
What if I need to clean a refrigerator or an oven on the inside?
If you want us to clean your refrigerator on the inside, please unplug it a night before, otherwise we will not be able to clean it thoroughly. If we are to clean your oven on the inside, please spray it with a grease remover a night before to expedite the cleaning process.
How do you estimate?
We will give you a preliminary estimate based on our typical cleaning model. The final estimate is always done on-site, when we arrive for your first cleaning. You will be notified if it is different from our original estimate before we start our initial cleaning session.
What are your requirements?
None really. We ask you to keep the place as clean as possible between the cleanings, so we can keep servicing you the best we can.
